Bailey Donovan — Australian Glass Artist (Canberra)

Colour, pattern and precision define the work of Bailey Donovan, an Australian glass artist known for intricate cane and murrine techniques. His blown glass vessels and sculptural forms transform everyday textiles like gingham, plaid and crochet into luminous contemporary objects.

Adelaide-trained and now Canberra-based, Bailey studied under Gabriella Bisetto at the University of South Australia, completed the JamFactory Associate Training Program, and undertook masterclasses at Pilchuck Glass School and the Corning Museum of Glass, as well as further study in Venice.

His work explores queer identity, comfort and domestic life, drawing inspiration from textiles and sweets to create patterned, design-led glass. Exhibited internationally, including the Toyama International Glass Exhibition (Japan) and the Tom Malone Glass Prize (WA), Bailey’s work is held in public and private collections across Australia.
