Brazilian-born, Australian-based writer and photographer. Creative director of House of Six (handwoven homewares). Author and photographer of Artists at Home.
Karina Dias Pires is a Brazilian-born Australian writer, photographer and creative director. She began her career in 1995 as a copywriter in Belo Horizonte, later working with agencies and magazines in São Paulo and London before settling in Sydney in 2005. Alongside her editorial work and image-making, Karina leads House of Six, a textile studio creating handwoven homewares. Her first book, Artists at Home, brings words and photographs together—an intimate look at creativity inside Australian homes and studios. Karina’s practice spans storytelling, portraiture and design direction, with a warm, human eye for detail.
