Robyn Wood — South Australian Designer (Ethical, Sustainable, Biophilic)

Ethical, sustainable and deeply connected to place. Robyn Wood creates furniture, objects and artworks that bring nature indoors—warm materials, organic forms and pieces designed to endure while being loved and used.

“I design pieces to endure while being loved and used.” — Robyn Wood

Robyn is a South Australian designer working across furniture, sculpture, painting, installation and product. Her practice centres on ethical, sustainable design: materials are selected thoughtfully, with a preference for warmer natural resources and organic forms. A strong biophilic thread runs through her work—she hikes and forages ideas from the landscape, then considers each object in the context of the space it will inhabit.

Projects span private and corporate furniture commissions, collaborations, exhibitions, curating, workshops and product design. In 2021, Robyn created and curated Biophilia: Call of the Wild, a group exhibition and symposium exploring biophilic design. Today she continues to tell stories through wood, paper, ink, cane and mixed media, crafting pieces that feel calm, tactile and lasting.
