Sourdough bakers all over Australia are loving the Fiddle Bow Bread Knife right now! Handmade in Tasmania from sustainably sourced local timbers, this unique knife is as beautiful as it is practical.

The signature bow shape keeps the blade tight and works as a guide for thickness, so every slice is uniform. You can cut anywhere from wafer-thin slices up to 24mm with ease. Whether used daily or as a stylish serving piece, it’s a true conversation starter for your kitchen or dining table.

Each knife is available in Huon Pine, Myrtle, or Tasmanian Blackwood.

Huon Pine offers soft golden tones,

Myrtle has rich reddish hues, and

Blackwood brings depth and warmth with darker grain patterns.

Sassafras is now sold out. Due to the ongoing shortage of deep-veined Sassafras timber and the rising cost of sourcing this rare material, HASA is sadly unable to continue producing knives in this wood. The lighter Sassafras currently available has a more subtle tone, closer to Huon Pine with a delicate pinkish tint.

Every knife features a stainless steel serrated blade that can be removed and reversed to create a left-handed knife with just a screwdriver. The bow design also works as a reference point for slice thickness, helping you cut perfectly even bread every time. The handle is ergonomically shaped, pre-oiled, and ready to use. The full length measures 35cm, with a 22cm blade.

Handcrafted by Maureen and Ron from HASA Tasmania, these are the original Fiddle Bow Bread Knives — the first of their kind in Australia since 1999. While you may see similar designs elsewhere, these remain the authentic originals, still handmade by the couple who pioneered the craft.

Due to high demand, orders are currently being dispatched within 2–5 business days. The Myrtle edition is almost sold out, with limited stock remaining and no further production planned.
